Google Providing Offline Advertising
In the April 10th issue of MediaPost’s SearchInsider David Berkowitz discusses the three different types of advertising offered by Google. The first is search, the second is contextual (placing relevant paid ads along side content published by AdSense partners) and the third is offline. Offline advertising? It’s true, Google is positioning itself to someday (perhaps) be the go to place for all your advertising buys. Earlier this month I, as well as millions of other Google AdWords advertisers, received an invitation to try Google Audio Ads. With Google Audio Ads you can select from hundreds of US radio stations, allowing you to select station type, demographics and time of day. To learn more about Google Audio Ads click here. As for television advertising, Google TV Ads are currently in a beta testing period and is currently only available to a small group of advertisers. In my opinion as TV becomes more and more digital (and potentially more interactive) Google is taking their search/contextual marketing approach to the next level. Imagine Goolge being able to match your television commercials to: program transcripts, the viewing history of consumers, and searches on interactive program guides.
